Cardiac Electrophysiology


Obadah Al Chekakie, MD, MSc, FACC 
Cardiac Electrophysiologist Obadah Al Chekakie, MD, MSc, FACC, is an expert in arrhythmia management and sudden cardiac death prevention. He performs comprehensive electrophysiology studies of the heart, ablation therapy, cardiac rhythm management and device implantation. He is Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology. Al Chekakie earned his medical degree from the University of Aleppo, Syria, and completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic. He continued his fellowship training at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Ill.

Cardiology


Anthony Albracht, MD, FACC
Anthony Albracht, MD, FACC, is Board-certified in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 1985. Albracht completed his residency at Baylor University Medical Center in 1988 and a fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center in 1993. 


Matthew Butler, MD
Matthew Butler, MD, is Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology and earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Kansas and a Cardiology fellowship at the University of Florida Shands Hospital.

Bob E. Green, MD, FACCBob E. Green, MD, FACC 
Bob Green, MD, FACC, is Board-certified in Cardiology and earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine in 1991. Green later completed a residency in 1994 and a fellowship in 1997, both at the University of Kansas Medical Center.


Ammar Habib, MDAmmar Habib, MD
Ammar Habib, MD, FACC, FSCAI, is Board-certified in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Diseases, Internal Medicine, and Vascular Ultrasound Interpretation (RPVI). Habib is an expert in various advanced coronary and peripheral interventions, and also specializes in structural heart interventions including transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). He earned his bachelor degree and medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City after completing a combined and accelerated medical program. Habib completed his Internal Medicine residency training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. He obtained his fellowship training in Cardiovascular Diseases at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan. Habib continued further fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology at Brown University in Providence, RI. Habib has several published peer-reviewed papers and cardiology book chapters, and has presented at various national medical conferences.

Jhulan Mukharji, MD, FACC
Jhulan Mukharji, MD, FACC, is Board-certified in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology. He earned his medical degree from the University College of Medical Sciences at Delhi University in India in 1975. Mukharji completed an internship at Safdarjung Hospital in 1977 and his residency at Jewish Hospital in 1979. He was Chief Resident at Jersey Medical Center in 1980 and later completed a fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 1984.

Jigar Patel, MD 
Jigar Patel, MD, is an interventional cardiologist, Board-certified in Cardiology, Echocardiography, and Nuclear Medicine. He earned his bachelor’s degree and medical degree from the University of Baroda Medical College in Gujarat, India, and completed an Internal Medicine residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He completed fellowships in Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant at Montefiore Medical Center, in Clinical Heart Failure/Transplant at Texas Heart Institute in Houston, in Cardiovascular Medicine at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and in Interventional Cardiology at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.

William S. Ritter, MD, FACC 
William Ritter, MD, FACC, is Board-certified in Cardiology and Cardiac Echocardiography and earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in 1971. Ritter completed an internship in 1972 and residency in 1973, both at Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital. In addition, he completed a second residency at Emory University in Atlanta in 1974 and a fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 1976.

David L. Robbins Jr., MD, FACC
David Robbins Jr., MD, FACC, is Board-certified in Nuclear Cardiology, Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine. He earned his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington, Vt., which is where he completed his Internal Medicine residency in 1997. Robbins completed fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease and in Interventional Cardiology, both at the University of Vermont College of Medicine.

Thaju Salam, MD, FACC
Thaju Salam, MD, FACC, is Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Nuclear Cardiology. He earned his medical degrees at JJM Medical College and Kasturba Medical College, India, and completed his residency and fellowship at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston, Mass. In addition, he received training in cardiology in the UK. During the last 10 years, he has given a number of presentations to physicians on a variety of cardiac-related topics.

Andrew Waters, MD
Andrew Waters, MD, is Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. He earned his medical degree from Saba University School of Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine residency and Cardiovascular Diseases fellowship at the University of Kansas Hospital. He is fluent in Spanish.


Heath Wilt, DO
Heath Wilt, DO, is Board-certified in Cardiology. He earned his medical degree at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, completed his residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and completed a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. 


Janae Carlson, MSN, APRN-C
Janae Carlson, APRN-C, earned both a bachelor's and master's degree in Nursing from the University of Kansas. She has experience as a clinical supervisor and critical care nurse specialist at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan., and as a cardiology nurse practitioner for Heart Health, PA in Leavenworth, Kan. Carlson has also taught classes as an instructor in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support for the American Heart Association.

Deb Sauer, MSN, APRN-C
Deb Sauer, APRN-C, earned an associate’s degree in Nursing from Newman University in Wichita, Kan., a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Kansas, and a master’s degree in Nursing in the Nursing Practitioner Program at the University of Wisconsin. She is Board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Lynn Sipes, MSN, APRN-C
Lynn Sipes, APRN-C, received her Master of Science degree from the University of Kansas School of Nursing. She has received several honors including the Alice Jensen Award for Outstanding Clinical Excellence in Nursing. Prior to Shawnee Mission Cardiology Associates, Sipes worked for a cardiology group in Topeka. She also has experience in telemetry and the ICU. Her specialties include pacemakers, defibrillators and implantable loop records. During her spare time, Sipes enjoys reading, attending plays and concerts, and working in her yard and flower beds. Growing up with the Air Force, she lived in various places throughout the United States, England and Germany. She has two children: a daughter who lives in Lawrence and a son who is in the Air National Guard in Topeka, Kan. She also has a grandson.
