We believe that understanding daily habits and a lifetime of habits can speak volumes as to why a patient may be struggling with their health, so we take the time to listen to each individual’s health story and help each patient find a lifestyle that works best for their own healing.
What kinds of questions are asked during your counseling session?
Our naturopathic doctor will take the time to get to know you and understand from a holistic perspective what might be causing you to not feel your best. In addition to reviewing your past medical history, we’ll ask about factors such as your average hourly sleep, the amount of vegetables you consume in a given day, how often you take a stress-free vacation and how your health was as a child. These questions will help your practitioner hear your story and get a better understanding of your daily habits and lifetime habits, with the goal of identifying why you may be struggling with a current health concern.
What role does stress play in a healthy lifestyle?
It’s important to check in with your stress levels. As you age, stress triggers begin to build. You need to figure out what stress-management technique works for you to help you decrease the negative health aspects of long-term stress. Some stress-reducing techniques may include meditation, nature walks, deep belly breathing, spending time with friends and family, and pursuing enjoyable hobbies.
