Each year, Speaking of Women’s health honors individuals who make a difference in the lives of Kansas City women. The 2013 Honoree program, Blossom Into A New You, recognizes women who have helped other women be strong, be healthy and be in-charge.
Encouraging someone to Blossom Into A New You may be expressed in many ways. For example, it might be a woman who:
Examples: Return to school, finish a marathon or make a career move.
Examples: creating balance in your life, learning to meditate, finding ways to reduce and manage stress
Examples: Stop smoking, manage chronic health problems with proper diet and exercise, or elimination of abusive behavior and negative relationships in your life.
Examples: Start an employee walking program, form an exercise group or develop a program that impacts the health of the community.
The honoree presentation takes place during the Speaking of Women’s Health lunch at the 16th annual conference, October 4, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Overland Park Convention Center. Your nominee will be featured in a video and receive a special recognition from the stage.
Please submit this completed form along with a narrative about how the nominee encourages other women to “Blossom Into A New You”. Submissions should be no longer than one page in length, approximately 500 words, and are due by July 12. For more information, call the Speaking of Women’s Health program director 913-789-5579.
All nominations will be reviewed by the Speaking of Women’s Health honoree committee, which will determine the final two honorees.
