Reddy joins Radiation Oncologist Michael Hughes to Offer Patients a Continuum of Care
Merriam, Kan. – Shawnee Mission Medical Center (SMMC) is pleased to announce that Medical Oncologist, Prasanth Reddy, MD, MPH, FACP, will jointly lead the Shawnee Mission Cancer Center. Reddy joins Radiation Oncologist, Michael Hughes, MD, to provide patients complete cancer care, from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.
Reddy is Board-certified in Medical Oncology, Hematology and Internal Medicine, specializing in cancer care, blood disorders and breast care.
He received his medical training at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where he also completed his internship and residency. Reddy completed a research fellowship at Midwest Biomedical Research Foundation and completed two additional fellowships at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where he is a volunteer clinical instructor in hematology and oncology. In addition, Reddy is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
The Cancer Center began seeing patients in January and offers a full array of oncology services, including medical oncology, radiation oncology, infusion therapies and other on-site integrative treatments and cancer support services. The Center also offers a PET/CT scanner that provides advanced imaging and treatment planning.
Long known as a leader in surgical and inpatient cancer care, SMMC will host grand opening events at the Cancer Center in April, which is conveniently located on the hospital’s Merriam campus at I-35 and 75th Street.
