The SMMC Child Care Center provides on-site care to associates' and physicians' children ages six weeks to 12 years. With extended hours, 6 a.m.-8 p.m., and no contractual obligations, the Center assists our associates and physicians in maintaining a healthy balance between work and family life. Unlike other child care providers, parents enjoy the convenience of placing their children on either permanent or week-to-week schedules - allowing parents to only pay for care on the day it's needed. In addition, the Center provides a unique and fun summer camp for school-age children.
To support our associates' academic efforts, SMMC offers tuition reimbursement assistance that can lower the cost of tuition expenses by thousands of dollars. This benefit helps offset tuition costs once an associate has successfully completed a relevant course for academic credit. In addition, SMMC offers certification reimbursement for associates who attain certification through a professional association.
We believe that associates can optimize their talents by maintaining complete whole-person health: physically, mentally and spiritually. We offer a 24-hour on-site fitness center for use by SMMC associates, physicians and volunteers, as well as members of their immediate family, for a nominal fee of $5 per month.
The SMMC employee health care plan is a self-insured medical program that offers associates three PPO plans to choose from. All three plans have in-network and out-of-network benefit levels to allow associates to choose where to have their services provided. All three plans have an annual out-of-pocket maximum, as well as prescription drug coverage.
The Associate Wellness Department serves associates by assisting with personal health goals and promoting a culture of health in employees’ working environment and personal lives. Associates can have a confidential consultation whether or not they are enrolled in the UMR insurance program. Our wellness experts can discuss biometric laboratory and health risk assessment results and suggest ideas to either maintain or improve results. Associates can record blood pressure, body fat, BMI, measurements and weight as often as they wish.
The department offers wellness challenges that associates can participate in each month. Programs are voluntary and are designed so that everyone can participate. Associates can earn points for their teams without being physically active, if necessary.
Paid time off from work is provided to eligible associates through the SMMC PDO (Paid Days Off) plan. This all-encompassing time off plan can be used for supervisor-approved paid time off for any reason - including illness, holidays and vacation.
All SMMC associates have the opportunity to receive monetary bonuses for referring qualified candidates for employment in select SMMC departments. Bonuses will be given upon new associate hire, after six months of new associate employment and after one year of new associate employment.
