When a teen or adult has a sudden cardiac arrest, survival depends on immediately getting CPR from someone nearby. Unfortunately, the majority of Americans feel helpless to act during a cardiac emergency because they don’t know how to administer CPR or they’re afraid of hurting the victim.
It is not necessary to have medical experience to learn Hands-Only CPR and equip yourself with the tools needed to save a life in a cardiac emergency. Anyone can participate and learn Hands-Only CPR, including children, seniors and people who may have physical constraints.
In addition, SMH and Johnson County Med ACT will train eighth and ninth grade students in adult and infant/child CPR this fall at schools across the area. Stay tuned for more details.
