Spiritual Wellness
Have to or get to?
Therefore, my dear friends, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Cor 15:58 NIV
What a difference a word can make! Ask the kids to clean up their room: "Awe mum, do I have to?" Ask a friend to go to a movie some evening and the reply might be: "Sorry, I have to work."
Seeing your way clearly.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Prov 3:5-6
It is so much easier when the next step is as plain as day, right before your eyes. Missourians’ want to be “shown”; everyone does better when we see clearly.
Take a closer look!
When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers - the moon and the stars you have set in place - what are mortals that you should think of us, Ps 8:3-4
There are lots of things you and I pass by every day yet never see. How long does it take you to notice the new glasses your coworker is wearing, or the new hair style, shoes or smile? We miss them in the busyness of our lives. We assume they are the same so we don't see the differences.
He said thanks...
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. Ps 107:1
Have you ever thought “I need to thank ‘X’ for helping out? “ Have you ever found yourself being so busy that it slipped your mind and ended up on the pile with all the other good intentions?
Good examples!
In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech… Titus 2:7-8
Where would we be without them… good examples that is?
Growing up, parents tell us to be a good example. Parents are happy when we have friends who are good examples. We are happy when we have good examples to encourage us and help us along life’s winding path.
