Maribeth Orr, DO

Shawnee Mission Primary Care - De Soto

Where did you receive your undergraduate and medical degrees?: Dr. Orr: I earned my undergraduate degree from Kansas State University and I'm a proud purple Wildcat! I earned my medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.
Do you have a special interest or focus in medicine?: Dr. Orr: I am interested in women's and children's/adolescent's health and prevention.
What do you like most about practicing medicine?: Dr. Orr: What I like most about practicing medicine is the variety of people I get to see with their variety of challenges. I especially enjoy providing care for an entire family and bonding with each member on their level.
What are your favorite hobbies outside of the office?: Dr. Orr: I enjoy step aerobics classes, recreational volleyball, riding four-wheelers, yard work wtih my husband and driving my children around to their activities. I also love watching professional bull riding.
Please describe your family life.: Dr. Orr: In one word, my family life is busy! My children are ages 8, 5 and 3. I love watching my daughters in their dance classes, and my son is a Cub Scout and loves getting involved in those activities. My husband is a sixth-grade teacher and he enjoys keeping our lawn green. We also love staying in for a movie on Friday and Saturday nights.
