Amy Gordon Ames, MD

Where did you receive your undergraduate and medical degrees?: Dr. Gordon Ames: I received my undergraduate degree from Kansas State University and my medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine.
Do you have a special interest or focus in medicine?: Dr. Gordon Ames: Although I enjoy caring for patients of all ages, I really love taking care of infants and children. I am particuarly interested in preventive care and learning how I might work with my patients to help them enjoy the benefits of excellent health.
What do you like most about practicing medicine?: Dr. Gordon Ames: My favorite part of practicing medicine is the chance that it gives me to connect with so many interesting people. I find it so rewarding to really get to know my patients and their families.
What are your favorite hobbies outside of the office?: Dr. Gordon Ames: I enjoy being outdoors. I like to go camping, jogging and waterskiing. I also like to sit on the porch with my coffee and I dabble in gardening.
Please describe your family life.: Dr. Gordon Ames: My husband, Eric, and I have been married for 13 years. We have two daughters ages seven and five. We enjoy spending time with friends and our extended family. We also keep busy with the kids' activities.
