Shawnee Mission Medical Center Receives Three UnitedHealth Premium® Designations

MERRIAM, Kan. – Shawnee Mission Medical Center (SMMC) has been awarded UnitedHealth Premium® Designations for Cardiac Services, as well as its Total Joint Replacement and Surgical Spine specialty centers.

In order to achieve these designations, SMMC met extensive quality and outcome criteria based on nationally recognized medical standards and expert advice. This included measurements of breadth and depth of care, staff experience, emergency care, quality and outcomes.

UnitedHealthcare® developed the UnitedHealth Premium specialty center program to give its members information and access to hospitals meeting rigorous quality criteria.
