Mental Health Adult and Senior Adult Inpatient Program
Shawnee Mission Medical Center's (SMMC) mental health inpatient services help stabilize individuals in crisis, while providing a safe environment away from home. Programs are designed to help individuals cope with depression or other mental health issues such as mood disorders, stress-related problems, life transitions, family problems, grief and loss, physical and sexual abuse issues and anxiety or panic disorders. We serve adults, age 18 and above
SMMC’s inpatient mental health program provides a therapeutic atmosphere for patients who require 24/7 care. The program’s team includes a wide range of caregivers including psychiatric nurses, pharmacists, chaplains, dieticians and behavioral health associates. Medication management is also part of the treatment process.
