Mental Health Adult and Senior Adult Inpatient Program
Shawnee Mission Medical Center’s (SMMC) mental health inpatient services help stabilize individuals in crisis, while providing a safe environment away from home. Programs are designed to help individuals cope with depression or other mental health issues such as mood disorders, stress-related problems, life transitions, family problems, grief and loss, physical and sexual abuse issues and anxiety or panic disorders.
SMMC’s inpatient mental health program provides a therapeutic atmosphere for patients who require 24/7 care. The program’s team includes a wide range of caregivers including psychiatric nurses, pharmacists, chaplains, dieticians and behavioral health associates. Medication management is also part of the treatment process.
