One Campaign… Two Great Causes
July 12-23

The Annual Associate Giving Campaign was introduced in 2004 by The Foundation for Shawnee Mission Medical Center to educate Shawnee Mission Medical Center (SMMC) associates about the Foundation and philanthropic giving. Each year in the United States, $300 billion is given through philanthropy, 83% of this giving is done by individuals just like us!

At SMMC, over 50% of our associates give to either the Foundation and/or the United Way.  This tremendous associate support makes an impact on our patients, colleagues and community.  It also makes a lasting impression on individuals, corporations and foundations that the Foundation approaches for philanthropic gifts. 

In 2010, our Annual Associate Giving Campaign goal is $150,000. We are already on our way to reaching this goal with over 420 associates currently giving through payroll deduction. In addition, there are other special incentives related to the campaign this year:

     • The Mainstreet Credit Union has challenged us to meet our goal by offering to contribute an additional $20,000 to our campaign once we raise $150,000. 
     • Associate gifts to the Maternity Area Expansion fund will help us meet a $1.2 million Mabee Challenge grant.
     • A new NICU room will be named in honor of SMMC associates with $50,000 in gifts from associates for the Maternity Area Expansion fund.

Please consider making a multiple payroll deduction, one-time payroll deduction or cash gift for the Annual Associate Giving Campaign this year. Stop by the SMMC cafeteria from July 12 - 23 to make a gift and pick up your donor gift.
